About the 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
The AC Cobra, also sold as the Shelby Cobra, is a sports car manufactured by AC Cars and Shelby American from 1962 to 1967. Conceived by Carroll Shelby and derived from the John Tojeiro-designed AC Ace, the Cobra was spawned when Shelby and AC modified an Ace to fit a Ford V8 engine. The Cobra 427 S/C (Semi-Competition), produced in 1965, is regarded as the ultimate evolution of the Cobra; spawned from a "design failure" when Shelby failed to meet a 100-car minimum production number for FIA homo
