About the '88 Mitsubishi Starion
The Mitsubishi Starion is a sports car manufactured by Mitsubishi from 1982 to 1989. Designed by Ryu Kaibuchi, Takashi Kono, Masaki Iwamoto and Hidetoshi Aoki, the Starion was marketed during a time when Japanese car manufacturers were marketing more GT-style sports cars. The origin of the car's name is a subject of debate; Mitsubishi claims its name is a combination of "star" and "Arion" while others claim it arose from a common mispronunciation of "stallion".
