About the Ferrari 512 M

The Ferrari 512 M was a sports prototype racing car designed and manufactured by Ferrari for endurance racing. Designed by Mauro Forghieri and homologated for Group 5 competition, the 512 M was an upgraded version of the Ferrari 512 S introduced in 1969 for endurance racing competition. Although both cars shared the same 5.0L Tipo 261 V12, the 512 M's chassis was manufactured out of aluminum as opposed to fiberglass, allowing for significant weight reduction; the car itself produced 620 horsepow
